Malik has a new address!

Malik was recently transferred to Snake River Correctional in Eastern Oregon. While it is a relief that he is out of the torturous conditions in solitary confinement at OSP, it is also bitter that he is being moved much farther from his home base in Portland. Nonetheless, his staunch resistance and our solidarity will continue wherever he is.

If you have a moment, please drop him a note of support and solidarity to help ease this transfer. Let's give him a morale boost and make sure the guards know that people outside have his back. His new address is:

Malik Muhammad #23935744
Snake River Correctional Institution
777 Stanton Blvd
Ontario, OR 97914-8335

Israel announced they will close their embassy in Ireland due to "the extreme anti-Israel policies of the Irish government,"

We will wear this as a badge of honour. We stand on the right side of history 🇮🇪 #Ireland https://www.rte.ie/news/ireland/2024/1215/1486609-israel-embassy/

forwarding from the Chinook Indian Nation:

"shiksh (Friend),

On this National Day of Mourning, the Chinook Indian Nation stands in solemn recognition of the complex history that today represents. While many celebrate Thanksgiving as a day of gratitude and community, for the Indigenous peoples of this country, it is also a time to reflect on the centuries of struggle, displacement, and erasure that followed the arrival of European settlers.

For the Chinook people, our history tells a story of resilience and hospitality. Our ancestors lived along the lower Columbia River for thousands of years, sustaining a rich culture rooted in the bounties of this land and the strength of our community. In 1805, when the Lewis and Clark Expedition reached the mouth of the Columbia River, it was the Chinook people who housed, fed, and supported them during the harsh winter. Our generosity and knowledge of the land were critical to their survival and success.

Today, we continue to work collaboratively with non-Indigenous community groups to care for our now shared land, including co-stewardship efforts with the Necanicum Watershed Council and the Columbia Land Trust.

As we mark this day, we ask that you join us in honoring the resilience of Native peoples across this land. We invite you to learn about our history and our present, to support Indigenous sovereignty, and to reflect on how we can all contribute to a more just and inclusive future.

Let this day be one of remembrance and action, as we work together to ensure the legacy of the Chinook Nation and all Indigenous peoples is recognized and celebrated — not only for our past, but for the thriving futures we deserve.

Thank you for standing with us.

hayu masi (many thanks),

Tony A. (naschio) Johnson"

I have zero sympathy for any country lamenting "population decline." Population decline is not a real thing.

"Replacement rate" is not a real thing either.

Every country on earth with a shrinking population, could solve all of their population shaping problems with immigration.

There is no shortage of people that want to be citizens of your country. There's only racism and xenophobia.

I would not have heard about this but for my "degrowth" RSS feed: Scientists in France, Netherlands, Mexico, and elsewhere did banner drops, postering, vandalism, and protests this past Saturday. Their message:

"The belief that economic growth is essential for our well-being is a myth that mainly serves the interests of a wealthy few. Instead of endlessly increasing production, we should focus on producing what is truly essential for everyone’s well-being and ensuring fair distribution."

That's #Degrowth in a nutshell.

Worldwide protests call on politicians and businesses to STOP their obsession with GDP

Activists from Scientist Rebellion & Growth Kills took part in civil disobedience in several cities around the world - calling for degrowth

Today in Labor History November 19, 1915: Joe Hill, IWW organizer and song writer was executed by a Utah firing squad after being convicted of murder on trumped-up charges. His final message from prison was “Don’t mourn, Organize!” His ashes were supposedly sprinkled in every state of the union, except Utah, because he had said, "I don't want to be found dead in Utah." They were also sprinkled in Canada, Sweden, Australia and Canada. Some of his most famous songs were “The Preacher and the Slave,” “The Rebel Girl,” “There is Power in a Union,” “Casey Jones, the Union Scab,” and “Mr. Block.” In 1988, an envelope containing his remaining ashes was discovered. Abbie Hoffman suggested that folksinger Billy Bragg should consume them and he supposedly did, washed down, of course, with copious union beer.

Today in Labor History November 17, 1942: Ben Reitman, hobo organizer, anarchist and one-time lover of Emma Goldman, died. Reitman served as a doctor for hobos, prostitutes and the downtrodden. He participated in numerous free speech fights and anarchist causes, getting beaten, tarred and feathered, jailed, and run out of town for his troubles, most notably during the San Diego free speech fight. He also wrote the book, “Boxcar Bertha.”

Today in Labor History November 17, 1947: Revolutionary and author Victor Serge died. Serge lived in Paris in the early 20th century, where he was loosely associated with the Bonnot gang of anarchist bank robbers, and where he collaborated with Raymond Callemin on the newspaper L’anarchie. He was in Barcelona during their anarchist uprising and contributed to the CNT’s newspaper, “Tierra y Libertad.” He went to Russia in 1918, initially in support of the communists. However, he quickly became disillusioned with the repressive, autocratic rule, criticized the party and was imprisoned. He wrote numerous books, including the classic “Birth of Our Power” and his autobiographical “Memoirs of a Revolutionist.”

The Zionist Occupation's army allowed roughly 10 aid trucks into Beit Hanoun in north Gaza, then nigh immediately dropped evacuation orders, and then dropped their bombs and artillery by helicopter, tank, and plane shortly thereafter. This disgusting and sadistic display by the Occupation was praised by Western media and, in that positive light the empire's ink wrote in, was used to justify dropping the threat of an arms embargo. The colony massacred the family of journalist Hossam Shabat, who has been accused of having participated in resistance operations by the settler-colony's leaders, and further destroyed the schools-turned-shelters acting as some of the only cover for Palestinians, days after the colony's intent to colonize — "annex" if you're a western journalist — the West Bank and al-Quds was published. Massacres have been carried out once again in Jabalia and recently in Ain Yacoub in the Akkar region in Lebanon's far north, killing over 30 displaced folks sheltering there.

Hezbollah says they launched "advanced, qualitative drones" missiles toward occupied Jaffa ("Tel Aviv"), hitting the "HaKirya" building that serves as the home of the occupation's "Defense Ministry" not once, but twice, using Qader-2 missiles for the second operation. A squadron of attack drones also targeted the occupation's Amos base, "an important transport and technology hub for Israel's northern region" according to The Cradle, near the Lebanon-Palestine border. Hezbollah fighters also targeted gatherings of the occupation's army soldiers on the outskirts of Bint Jbeil and Maroun Al-Ras in Lebanon with barrages of Nasr-1 missiles.

Additionally, Resistance fighters have begun operations targetting zionist checkpoints in Nablus, and clashes have begun in Tammoun, south of Tubas, in the West Bank in response to Occupation Forces attempting raids on the homes of wanted individuals.

"'Indeed, tomorrow is near for those who wait.'

"When the hour of tomorrow strikes, truths will emerge from the shadows to haunt you, O cursed occupier.

"Your Brothers,
"Al-Wadie Group"

Victory to the resistance.
