A free one-hour online onboarding session & introduction to #Wikidata is being offered as part of the #IBC2024 Wikidata Workshop. #Botany focused but anyone can attend!
Date: Tuesday 9th July at 9pm NZST (GMT+12) / 11 am central Europe
Register: https://tepapa.zoom.us/meeting/register/tZUpf--orz8vEt0osKr1N2A6sXm4zyyXlGxe#/registration
This one hour Zoom meeting will give participants an introduction to Wikidata and why it is important for botanists (and indeed all scientists) to actively improve and engage with Wikidata, especially about scientists, collectors, taxa, specimens, scientific publications, and research. This Zoom meeting will also act as an online boarding session for those who have registered for our in person Wikidata workshop at the International Botanical Congress on 21 July from 12-5 pm in Madrid. However, you do NOT need to be attending the in-person workshop to attend this one-hour FREE Zoom introduction which is open to ALL who register for it. The organisers of this online meeting and the in-person IBC workshop are Siobhan Leachman (2023 Wikimedian Laureate and independent researcher, Wellington, New Zealand), Sabine von Mering (data scientist and botanist, Museum für Naturkunde Berlin, Germany), Joaquim Santos (herbarium collection manager and researcher, Universidade de Coimbra, Coimbra, Portugal) and Heidi Meudt (Curator Botany, Museum of New Zealand Te Papa Tongarewa, Wellington, New Zealand).
