In #Wikidata and #OpenStreetMap, whenever I face a term in other countries, for example regarding administrative divisions or road types, for which we don't have precise equivalent in Greece, I always try to find a similar equivalent to Greek, in order to understand it's relation to the rest of its kind better.

Even though I know that sometimes trying to do this comparison is wrong, because exactly there aren't always equivalent/almost similar stuff, I still tend to so to better understand how I could map/translate such thing in Greek.

And then I fall into a rabbit hole studying other countries' systems trying to figure stuff out :P

Working on a project for OSM that utilizes Wikidata flag info. There's a good number of wikidata entries that have a P41 (flag image) statement but do not have a corresponding wikidata item for "flag of FOO" with instance of "flag design" (Q69506823).

Surely some wikdiata power user could save me from generating these one at at time 😃

In the afternoon at AI-Bridges, Philippe Saadé from @wikimediaDE discusses the #Wikidata vector database and use cases for RAG, named entity recognition/ disambiguation and classification, but not only. The vectors are calculated per language (English, German, French & Arabic), but the search query entered in the LLM interface can be multilingual.

A complementary development is the Wikidata MCP with a set of available tools. The connection to LLMs like Mistral (where connection to the internet can be interrupted, so that only source of truth becomes Wikidata), seems promising but not error-free yet esp. with SPARL query formulation & need to remove a lot of assumptions.
