The Path of the Gods needs no introduction. Saturday we explored this iconic trail with a small international group – reaching it entirely by public transport (train, bus, ferry), which made the journey even more special. And it truly delivered: endless coastal views, encounters with horses, mules, and Neapolitan goats along the way, plus plenty of local flavors like freshly made cheese and refreshing lemon juice straight from the source.

𝗧𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿𝗲–𝗙𝗮𝗿𝗳𝗮 𝗡𝗮𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗲 – 𝘄𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝗿𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘄𝗶𝗹𝗱𝗹𝗶𝗳𝗲 𝗺𝗲𝗲𝘁

Just a short distance from Rome, the landscape suddenly feels wild. Reeds moving in the breeze, the quiet flow of the Tiber, and wildlife constantly appearing along the riverbanks.

Guided by Alessandro on behalf of Nature of Sal, our international group explored the protected wetlands of the Tevere–Farfa Nature Reserve — a hidden sanctuary where nature quietly thrives.

One of the highlights of the day was drifting along the Tiber in a small boat, seeing the reserve from a completely different perspective. Surrounded by water, birds, and silence, it felt like discovering a secret corner of Lazio.

At the same time, with another group, Sal guided a hike along the urban stretch of the Tiber in Rome, an important wildlife corridor within the city.

While yesterday #Rome was wrapped in rain and grey skies, our hikers trusted our meteorological reading – and were rewarded just over an hour away in #Abruzzo. Deep, fresh #snow greeted us, and as we snowshoed above 1800 m, the clouds parted, the sun appeared, and the landscape transformed into pure winter magic.

Knowing where and when to go really makes all the difference. We finished the day perfectly with local, authentic food in a nearby #mountain spot – delicious and well earned.
