You may know me from such defunct social websites as livejournal, assorted mid-2000s bulletin boards, and the Yahoo! Ann Landers discussion chatroom. Former librarian and museum educator, almost biologist, current web developer, future ???
My hands and my back are sore but overall I’m very pleased with my first attempt at the New England porch weave style of seat weaving! The hank of reed was basically exactly the amount I needed, as you can see from my tiny pile of leftover scraps. The back I left intact because it’s still in pretty good condition; also the back might be my grandmother’s work and I like that we’ve both left our mark on it. #seatweaving
My latest innovation in keeping warm in my home office without heating my whole house: the business bag! (aka a 55F-rated summer-weight sleeping bag with an open bottom and velcro at the shoulders so you can wear it like a very awkward dress). I usually take the "bib" part down during Zoom meetings. #energyefficiency#camping#nounitaskers
I made a lot of toum. Arguably too much toum for one person to eat in a month (four heads of garlic is no big deal, but three cups of oil seems like maybe too much to get through in one month). In conclusion: garlic party at my house? Time to buy more French fries? #toum#cooking#sauce
Very pleased with my solution for getting my 18x24 sketchbooks from home in Malden to art class in Cambridge via bicycle - I screwed a piece of fiberboard I had lying around into the rack, then strapped the notebooks to the fiberboard. I was able to leave the sketchbooks at the studio, so on the way home it was maybe overkill for my takeout order. #biketooter#cycling#ebike
