In 6th grade, my teacher Ms. Z read this #book to our class. Fast forward 20 years (!!) and this book shows up in a little free #library on my walk. Time for me to go read in the sunshine!

Today we finished listening to an audio recording of "Two Old Women" by Velma Wallis. This tale comes from Athabascan culture - specifically the Gwich'in tribe - and follows the story of Sa and Chidzigyaak, two elderly women abandoned by their tribe during a harsh winter. The story follows their struggles and the success of their survival.
