Baby WItches and folks considering work with Brigid:
This is an excellent time to begin.
A simple way (rooted in centuries of tradition) to start would be to light a candle (e.g. a tealight or whatever you have handy) each night for 19 nights. Then, on the 20th night, set aside time to learn about or just be with Brigid as She tends the flame. /|\ #Pagan #Brigid #Imbolc #WitchSky
Winter Solstice reminds me of lessons learned from grief, shamanic work, druidic practices, and my healing journey all at once.
It has become a favorite of mine, but not for being festive; I prefer to quietly sit in the darkness alone /|\ I light a single candle, contemplate the dark and light, and reflect or go within to learn deeper truths about myself, life, and magick.

One of the most powerful lessons I have learned from grief and Shadow Work (IFS) has been to embrace endings.
Combining that with recapitulation (breath + energy work) has made for potent and empowering transformations.

Courage is being afraid and doing it anyway. It's Latin roots also point to courage as a form heart work or getting in touch with your inner truth and speaking it. To find that courage myself, I had to do a lot of sitting with fear. buff.ly/vIfjP8I
Years ago, inspired by the Day of the Dead, I dedicated today to honoring my ancestors and quietly reflecting as a rested - since the 31st often involves parties, handing out candy, and a Samhain ritual, I'm usually pretty worn out.
Now that I've said goodbye to loved ones, it has also become a time for remembering, self-care, and grief work. It felt natural, but it also gets me in the right state to handle the winter holidays without them.
Happy Halloween and a Blessed Samhain!
Around midnight, I'll shift into my annual remembrance and grief work, but today I find myself reflecting on the gifts of fear work: buff.ly/vIfjP8I
It was extremely challenging, but the insights made it seriously worth the work.
