#FatTuesday #Herping in the #Gamboa #Rainforest, #Panama. Lots of what I believe to be juvenile #Basilisk #lizards, and several species of #frogs for me to identify when I return home. Also spotted an American #Crocodile in the Chagres River near there on Sunday.

A revised, high quality, leopard gecko (Eublepharis macularius) reference genome produced using PacBio HiFi and Hi-C. Get this, 1/2 the chromosomes were assembled as contigs!!! 😮

The oldest #chameleon you’re ever likely to see. This is a #specimen from the 18th century Danish Kunstkammer, making it around 250 years old. It is in remarkably good condition!

My son just loves looking at Lemon, our Euprepiophis mandarinus (Mandarin Rat Snake). It is incredibly heartwarming to see him looking into her tank and hear his little cooing sounds. <3
