Wait, wall lizards (Podarcis) also have a rock-paper-scissors situation in color morphs? I thought this was only in side-blotched lizards in the US. Pretty crazy, they aren't even in the same family.
"These larger, more aggressive lizards, recognized by their striking appearance, have spread rapidly. As they expand into new areas, the yellow and orange throat variants are disappearing. In many places, only the white morph remains."

Aggressive “hulk” lizards are wiping out millions of years of evolution

For ages, wall lizards coexisted in three distinct color types, each with its own strategy for survival. Now, a powerful green variant is taking over. These dominant “Hulk” lizards are outcompeting the others, causing yellow and orange morphs to vanish. It’s a dramatic reminder that evolution can flip the script much faster than expected.

frösche sind weit schwerer vor die linse zu bekommen als krabbeltierchen, meist von vornherein weiter weg, hauen sie zudem schneller ab und sind hervorragend getarnt, zumindest wenn sie dann stillhalten. was wieder von vorteil ist

New video out!
The second full day in California ended up being slower...and I blame that in no small part on the March heatwave drying everything out. But despite that...still turned up what was possibly the best thing I could have found up in the mountains!
