🤖🖼️🏛️ Art historian, working on museums and datapolitics

In June 2025 I started to work for #Wikimedia Deutschland as manager for digital cultural heritage: https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/User:Lukas_Fuchsgruber_(WMDE)

Before that I was Postdoc researcher at TU Berlin in a project called "Museums and Society - Mapping the Social": https://museumsandsociety.net/

And the very symbolic photo is posted with a Creative Commons licence, which is a great feature but too hidden and few #Pixelfed users seem to use it. Also #Mastodon doesn‘t have this option to licence media at all, right? Please correct me if I missed it. If it doesn‘t exist, it seems like a really necessary update?

Will think about to how to formulate proper proposals, #CreativeCommons and #Fediverse have great potential together. Like the Flickr to Wikimedia Commons pipeline in the past.

TheMuseumsLab has launched a website:
https://themuseumslab.org/

„At the core of TheMuseumsLab lies TheMuseumsLab Fellowship, a unique African–European joint learning programme for emerging leaders from Museums, Heritage and Art Institutions, and Cultural Spaces. Founded in 2020, it responds to the need for a new kind of cultural collaboration, one that actively addresses the legacies of colonialism and seeks to build a shared, forward-looking cultural future between the two continents.“

Bert Hubert poses the relation between Digital Commons and digital autonomy: the first guarantees the 2nd, not necessarily vice versa.

In which I propose conceptual analogues as terms that fuse theory and practice to expand the language of data visualization. It is based on a contribution to the early-pandemic workshop »What is the Digital Doing?« and is out now in a special issue of Interface Critique, edited by Nina Tolksdorf and Lindsey Drury.
