Before the pandemic, I was using this app called “Zombies, Run,” which tells a story about a zombie apocalypse in between your music, and then yells “Zombies! Run!”
Well, during the beginning of the pandemic when all the gyms closed, I’d run and there would be tons of people in the park without masks, all getting close, and then the app seemed a bit too real. It may as well have said “Maskless people! Run!”

Anyway, I’m starting to get back into it after recovering from a calf injury.

I’ve got a lot of fears around my self-worth, whether I matter. And then I have larger fears around the US headed for civil war, and then globally the fear of extinction of all humanity, possibly all life on earth. And then universally the fear that there is no point to any of this anyway.

But my biggest fear has to be accordions.

We had joint parenting duties with my in-laws of a miniature schnauzer named Patches. He was a butthead with a lot of love to give. And he was so tough. He lasted through a dog attack and various ailments but we finally had to put him to sleep last year at the age of 15. It was extremely difficult. I’ve never had to do anything like that before, but he was in a room with people who loved him and seemed happy. I still miss him.
