Where's the best value place to buy 80 column listing paper in the UK?

Suggestions for online or regional stores plz.

Ta!

Much as I have appreciated being on Oldbytes.space, it does seem to have become a bit flaky recently, so I have reactivated @linker3000 and I'll be posting over there unless/until things get better over here. I'll try moving users etc. so you won't miss a word of my vital mumblings.

Interesting course with a strong theme!

For over 15 years, I've been maintaining a near-comprehensive collection and overview of all the BBS Software that was ever released. New versions and items come in occasionally, and the addition of a few more recently made me remember it.

(F15SIM came by and fixed up the whole thing recently, too.)

Hard to imagine life before I knew the #bash shortcut '!$' to refer to the last argument of the previous command. It's so useful in shell sessions!

Example usage:
`$ mkdir -p some/long/path/to/foo`
`$ chmod 700 !$`
`$ cd !$`

I cannot believe how much reach this Best. Birthday. Cake. Ever. toot has had. Almost 1000 re-toots so far.

Describing it as the Best might be doing @shieladixon a disservice though when comparing with previous years cakes.

@Extelec Iโ€™d like to perform an arcana check on the Cray supercomputer.
@DeltaWye @Extelec
Roll for WIS checkโ€ฆ waitโ€ฆ nvmโ€ฆ itโ€™d fail no matter the circumstances. There is a hardware switch in front of you, do you flip it?

@camstonefaux @Extelec Oh hell and of course thereโ€™s no listing of switches for the Cray-1 or Cray-2โ€ฆ man I hope this isnโ€™t bad.

Is the Cray running? Like a status for the motor generators?

Ah screw it, I flip the switch. Boy I hope thatโ€™s not a Halon system.

@DeltaWye @Extelec Yup, it was the halon dump. The system is shut down, the alarms are blaring, lights are flashing, and there is an angry sysadmin glaring at you. Not everyone gets to put this on their resumeโ€ฆ so, congratulations!

@camstonefaux @Extelec Uh, I shout at him โ€œIโ€™M WITH THE umm ELECTRICITY POLICE NO TIME TO EXPLAIN! GO! OUT NOW BEFORE IT DUMPS!โ€

I think thatโ€™s a persuasion or intimidation check.

@Extelec
There are many twisty cables, all alike.

UNPLUG BLUE CABLE

@Extelec I want a Cray so bad even if just for furniture
@Extelec You call this a super computer?

@RLIBlog Yey, lasers and flashy lights.

Its a Super computer alright.

@Extelec go west
@mhartle You see a construction worker, a police man and a native American.

Pico Cray - Small scale distributed computing. - Extreme Electronics

The Pico Cray is a cluster of 8 Picos and a controller Pico. All Picos are connected in parallel by an I2C bus. The controller is designated by one GPIO being held low, the processor Picoโ€™s addresses are allocated automatically. The Controller Pico has a 320x240px display connected by SPI and a couple of buttons. โ€ฆ Continue reading Pico Cray โ€“ Small scale distributed computing. โ†’

@Extelec You hear a vague humming noise coming from the north east. The floor beneath your feet is covered in dried blood.
@Extelec On monday, I walked through a Supercomputer. It was hot in there!

@Extelec That frame reminds me of the HelmerIII concept that I thought was fantastic and I still would love to build something like it some day. https://helmer3.sfe.se/

@Extelec I can say truthfully "been there, done that". (We had several Cray 1 models in our data center at the Livermore Labs.)

But for the Cray 2 only a tiny person could get into the middle.

@Extelec It is very warm in the room ๐Ÿ˜‰

@Extelec I put mine in a sexy transparent case.

@Extelec It is pitch black, you are likely to be eaten by a grue.

@Extelec According to Cray, the height of it was designed so you couldn't see the dust on top. And the padded bench (housing part of cooling and power supply) was there to give the engineer something to rest on.
