Democracy doesn’t die in darkness.
Democracy dies behind a paywall.
Gonna need a survival suit if I go out today. Lake Effect Snow Warning extended until Tuesday. We already have over 24” (60cm) of snow. Hasn’t snowed like this in years.

Been a long time since I did anything with the transformer model. Rendered in #Blender. Going to be replacing the cables on the 1H 750kV connections with aluminum bars. #blender3d #blenderart #electricity

Firewalls are partially transparent to not block the view of the transformer itself.

How Black Friday purportedly works - my understanding:

1. Item X costs $50 to make
2. X normally sells for $80
3. X gets marked up to $100 in November
4. Black Friday - X gets marked down to a Black Friday “sales price” of only $70

Or:

1. TV A costs $600 to make and sells for $700
2. TV A.1 is a cheaper substandard variant of TV A, costs $300 to make, and it’s sold on Black Friday for only $400

US folks - are you doing Black Friday shopping? (Boosts encouraged)

Going down a sort of memory lane here looking through old posts.

This is where I met someone who ended up being extremely influential to me here: @tvorsk! Unfortunately auto-delete nuked a lot of the conversation about the sounds relays made.

IMPORTANT NOTICE:

Just wanted to say I’ll soon be transitioning from mstdn.social to tiggi.es - Leo Burr’s Instance. Should be seamless.

It’s supposed to be joyful, but tomorrow is going to be an extremely challenging day for a lot of people.

Make sure to lend people an ear and some kindness - they might even need an extra bit of patience too.

Doing some cleanup Mastodon post deletions pending my instance move, and I got a rate limiting message - I guess deleting posts are actually sort of costly for the server. Makes sense.
