Welcome to Mastodon @SoftwareSaved!

The Software Sustainably Institute promotes and fosters better open digital infrastructure for #science. Their Fellowship program is awesome and I had the privilege of being accepted as a Fellow in 2020 (not the best time but they made it work).

Definitely worth a follow if your interests are in #OpenSource #OpenScience #Reproducibility #ResearchSoftwareEngineering etc

CompGeoLab member Gelson F. Souza Junior gave a talk at the 2024 Castle Meeting at Utrecht, The Netherlands. The talk showed the first results of a significant improvement that we made to our magnetic microscopy inversion method. Read more about it: https://www.compgeolab.org/news/castlemeeting2024.html

Visualizing the on-going massive floods in Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil

The state of Rio Grande do Sul in southern Brazil is currently experiencing massive floods due to intense rain fall, affecting hundreds of thousands of people. The scale of these events is...

👋🏽 Olá! I'm Leo and here is a new #introduction.

I am Professor of #Geophysics at Universidade de São Paulo, Brazil, where I study the Earth using tiny disturbances in its gravity and magnetic fields, from global 🌎 to microscopic 🔬 scale.

I create mathematical and computational tools to extract as much information as we can from these data. My entire career has revolved around #OpenSource (mainly @fatiando), #OpenScience, and #OpenEducationalResources.
