She/her, but they also works. When I'm not lurking, subjects are mostly XML + the climate crisis (and related). Covid-cautious, LC recovery.

Interesting and concerning #COVID19 study. It suggests an important and accumulating shift in COVID dangers without specifically forecasting impact.

"Five years after the emergence of SARS-CoV-2, converging clinical evidence reveals a progressive compound immunodeficiency affecting a substantial and growing proportion of the global population... The cross-pathogen pattern further supports a shared immunological driver operating at population scale."

This Long Covid Awareness Day let us remember the millions who've been disabled by the virus.

The people who've been forgotten and left behind.

The folks who have to hide their diagnosis because of the stigma attached to it.

You think you don't know anyone with Long Covid?

I promise, you do:

Hundreds of scientists say stop! ✋🚨

Governments should pause plans for mandatory #AgeChecks on online services until serious #privacy and #security concerns are addressed.

As countries push to ban children from social media, the risk to everyone’s privacy is growing. 🔐🌍

People keep assuming "age verification" _could_ be a good thing if magically done right with no side effects on adults.

A system to label every child so they can't blend in with the crowd but are instead easily found by anyone looking for children. A system that confirms your selection is a certified child.

Did sewing a star of david on every jew's clothing keep them safe in germany? Fascists want a spotlight on specific people at all times. Excuse to build spotlights.

It doesn’t matter whether the rate of global warming is increasing. It’ll never cease to amaze me that people don’t care that it’s happening at all. It should be the most alarming thing ever.
