Hi, Mastodon family. I have a question about a piece of #music. There is a beautiful song in #German and I think that the tune is absolutely gorgeous. The title is ?Weil's Nacha Zeit Is
" and I can't find an accurate translation. Does anyone know the story behind this song or what the title means? The tune is so unique and I love to play it! Thanks for any information you can provide.
@J3317 Hope you feel better soon. We are good here in South Carolina. Enjoying some much-needed rain.
anyone know where I can find short wave radios here?
hey all, looking for a way to get past or around the h-captcha challenge that comes with creating a steam account. we've tried using their accessibility cookie thing and it didn't really do a whole lot except refuse to work. any recommendations? if not, please boost for reach. :)
@carrottop1023 @cub80_appleby Mint tea is a favorite of mine, too, though I drink it unsweetened. Enjoy.
@EdenLinnea I have played the Yamaha Silent Keys pianos, as the church where I used to work had one. It was digital, but also had strings and could be played as a standard acoustic piano. It required regular tuning also. The digital side was accessible enough for me, which means that I was able to find work-arounds for navigating menus, etc. They are very menu-driven, but might work for you if you don't mind studying the manual and working with someone like an Aira agent to get a feel for the navigation of the menus.
@EdenLinnea Not sure if this is what you're looking for, but I really like the Yamaha P-515. It plays very nicely, but also works as a Midi controller with USB or legacy MIDI connectivity. Here's a link to it on Amazon. https://a.co/d/iL7CHXg

Hi, Mastodon family. It has been a hectic few weeks, but I wanted to take a minute to share my experience of actually reporting for jury duty in the Charleston, South Carolina Municipal Court back in March. It was necessary for me to visit the municipal building only once. I was able to participate in the intake process and speak with the judge. He said that I was indeed qualified to serve, but that the upcoming case was a traffic case with a lot of video. He said that if my name was chosen, there was a good chance that the attorneys would object based on the video evidence, and that if they did make such an objection, he would be in agreement with them.
Ultimately, my name was not chosen and it was a week with a light case load, so I was not asked to return and was dismissed along with the rest of the jury pool.
My greatest challenge was an overly-zealous security officer who appointed herself as my "caregiver" during my time there. When I explained the sighted guide technique to her, she responded, "No! You hold my hand! I don't smell bad!" When I asked her politely to place my hand on the back of my chair, she said, "No! I'm gonna set you down in this chair, and you tell me when your ride comes 'cuz you can't be outside by yourself!"

Fortunately, she was called away and I was able to exit the building, navigate down the stairs and enter my Uber as independently as I had entered the building.

Thanks, all, for your kind thoughts and encouraging words during this process. Best wishes and blessings.
