@maugendre Linux computer. Fedora KDE 42, to be exact.

@ainmosni @maugendre

Debian 12, here. But reading in the terminal.

@amin
Forgive my ignorance. I am surprised that you read Fediverse streams in a TTY. Would you elaborate?

@maugendre

Sure! I post and read fedi from the tut client. :)

@maugendre
That said, main reading is between phone, tablet (iPad at moment, but planning to escape that system),and computer. prefer computer or phone at this point.(linux distribution for computer)
@futurebird
@maugendre Just a normal Linux machine.
@soc
You show as a normal kind of person 😉
@maugendre My answer here ("other phone or tablet") is an outlier: I do at least 75–80% of my Fedi reading on a Windows laptop. Maybe more like 90%. But the poll asked for "right now", and happened to hit one of the 10–25% of the time that I was doing it on my phone.
@maugendre Linux desktop 99.9% of the time. Also iPhone, but rarely.
@maugendre Sorry missed the "right now", Linux Mint on Desktop PC.

The care & feeding of a linux system is actually easier than windows
No having your hardware obsoleted by a version upgrade
@visikde
Easier and safer!
Approved 😉
@maugendre @aprilfollies read this on Ivory for macOS, but I also use it on iOS.
@maugendre  Linux on a desktop computer.
@maugendre I do feel exposed right now.
@maugendre i suspect you'd get better granularity if you swapped iphone for android
@pavsmith
I wondered about that too.
Maybe i'll swap next time.
@maugendre The others are right. Nice!
@maugendre
Chose Windows computer, but luck of the draw. It could have just as easily been an Android phone.
@maugendre
My "other computer" runs Linux. I'd rather not waste my money on Apple products or Windows.
@Binder
@maugendre Wow, I didn't know I was in such a small minority.

@modulux
The share of Windows is reduced thanks to:
* the poll starting on a Sunday;
* many Mastodon users having left to more normal platforms.

I think.

@maugendre posted a similar poll myself with the intent of comparing here to Threads. I like to think we’re more technical and thus desktop platforms will be more popular but we’ll see. It is a constant surprise to me how many people have completely replaced desktop with smartphone, my partner included.

@dave
Thank you for sharing.

I also did not expect that so many people would have completely replaced desktop with smartphone or tablet.
I have come to accept it (and thus rationalize it).

@maugendre Still reading this toot on my Linux computer.
