Aanrader voor liefhebbers van interbellum architectuur in Gent: "De stationsbuurt in het interbellum : een cinema, een vakbond, een kerk, en huizen voor arm en rijk" door Leen Meganck voor de Culturele Kring Sint-Paulus. Herhaling wegens groot succes. Een boeiend verhaal vol beeld- en kaartmateriaal dat het ontstaan van een nieuwe wijk vlak buiten de Gentse stadsmuren schetst.

Ramskapelle. Polderdorp waar mijn grootvader zijn wieg stond. Afgebeeld op de kaart van het Brugse Vrije door Pieter Pourbus (1570). Nu te raadplegen op https://geo.onroerenderfgoed.be (Lagen > Historische Kaarten). Je kan er de kaart meteen combineren met onze andere informatie en geodata.

Zo kan je zien dat er in 1570 al een molen stond op de plaats van de hedendaagse "Molen van Callant" en meteen inventarisfiches en afbeeldingen over de molen bekijken. De kracht van #GIS : alle info samen op kaart!

It's incredible to see just how much attention and level of detail is present in them. While they're very accurate, some of them feel more like art than a mere technical drawing. Some could be a part of a comic book set in late 19th century Belgium.
