Something cool in your timeline for the current heatwave in Europe. An iceberg in Jökulsárlón lagoon in #iceland

the math works out here to ms losing 9.5% of its userbase year over year for the last 3 years running.

400 million users out of 1.4 billion is 28.5%

so in 3 years, ms has lost nearly ONE THIRD of its userbase.

stuff that in your kernel and crowdstrike it.

Nice and cool and a little overcast today; great day for Lion’s Lair

Some professional news:

1. I’m now a Special Rapporteur for the Cyber Resilience Act.

2. My company is hiring EU subcontractors with network and security expertise!

Bow Shock Systems won a contract with ETSI to lead development of "vertical" cybersecurity standards for specific products. I'm leading the one for operating systems.

We're looking for people with technical expertise and leadership ability to lead three other verticals.

Anytime I want to do something with ARM stuff it seems like Thumb instructions basically just exist to go HA HA WE ARE HERE TO BE AN EXCEPTION TO THE RULE
@jamie_blumberg @rmondello the most interesting thing about nostalgia is even when it’s well-intentioned (vs, well, *that*) it gets important details wrong, or relies on only one or a few interpretations of whatever the nostalgic thing is
@jrward very true. But a singular person can’t change the size of cars or even how well drivers drive - changing helmet and cycling route is within reach though

Oooh, the one with the beautiful greens!

@inverted This was our first time seeing the lake. We took the ebikes planning to make a loop and come back on the trail we knew, the one that goes by all the sulfur ponds. Turns out the connection between them is poorly marked, sometimes the trail disappears, and there are about 50 down trees you have to lift a bike over. We were SO RELIEVED when we finally got to the lunch spot from previous hikes and recognized it.

But the meadows and the big valley with the lake were lovely. Plus, elk.
