A question for the #Mastodon admins among you:

Let's say I have two public posts, A and B, on the same instance, by different authors, and B is a reply to A.

After replying, A gets deleted.

Is there a way to prove with publicly available information that B was a reply to A?

Using B's URL and appending ".json", it no longer has an "inReplyTo" field, only a "context" URL with 1 item (B).

Is there a non-public way for the instance admin, via web interface or database dump?

Ich will mich ja von meinen technischen Geräten nicht gängeln lassen und ignoriere die auch schonmal weg, wenn ich gerade nicht danach gucken will. Die Methode ist aber nicht immer optimal - gerade konnte ich die Uhr im letzten Moment von einem Notruf abhalten, weil sie meinte, ich sei gestürzt.

Mich ärgert gar nicht so sehr, dass diese Regierung an ein paar Stellen offensichtlich "kreativ bucht". Die Zeiten sind extrem unruhig, das kann passieren.

Looking for a new job as an Embedded Software Engineer.

I have 3 years of experience as an embedded software engineer in an R&D team. Mostly with embedded C, real-time operating systems, ESP32, communication protocols, and some hardware design.
