Just finished a look into the brand new @elementary OS 8.1!
Is the move to Wayland by default (Secure Session) ready for prime time? Yes, yes it is. I walk through the installer, test out the new workspace switcher in the dock, and check out the new monitor and other apps.
If you are looking for a polished, Ubuntu 24.04 based experience, this release has a lot of polish to show off. Great for new users!
