@itsfoss Vivaldi. it just works, has a ton of Features and does not include ai

@itsfoss Firefox because the a) I don't like the Chrome monoculture which is everything else there

Zen as backup.

Brave as third backup but every time I launch it, I'm asked to turn on the crypto ads that are default in everyone's favorite browser for whatever reason.

I wish Firefox could just stay the course. Their new CEO sounds like a compulsive moron who needs to be kicked in the crotch multiple times. But for now I'm still there.

@itsfoss

Zen browser or Helium. None of the browsers on your list are good enough for me.

@itsfoss I'm using Brave now since a while but I'm open for improvement.
@itsfoss I use Librewolf on PC and IronFox on Android. EDIT: I almost forgot eww for reading articles and such where javascript isn't required.
@itsfoss Brave. I love ♥️ it. I don't know why people say, "Helium is the browser that Brave should be."
@danish_akhtar7 @itsfoss I used Brave for a while until they started advertising at me. IMHO, Ironwolf is the browser Brave should be.
@rustbuckett @itsfoss I haven't seen any advertisement on it yet.
@danish_akhtar7 @rustbuckett @itsfoss Brave ads are disabled by default. Ad blocker and non Big Tech search engine by default. There's no other cross-platform Open Source browser that does this.
@rustbuckett @opensourceopenmind @itsfoss I have never heard of these browsers.
@danish_akhtar7 @opensourceopenmind @itsfoss Oh. They are both built on the Mozilla engine and are privacy focused. I'm just now trying Zen and I very much like it.
@itsfoss mullvad browser (firefox fork)
@itsfoss
no
no
ugh
no
please enlighten me
@oay @itsfoss Zen is a FX fork that's designed to be minimalist and beautiful and "customizable" which in practice as far as I can tell means you can adjust your corner radius or something like that. I definitely suggest giving it a 48 hour testrun.
@Dj4n90 @itsfoss How do you use mastodon on Lynx
@userpi @itsfoss Damn it, now you've got me! I only use Mastodon on my phone in the app!
@itsfoss Librewolf on desktop, and IronFox on Android. Also, I have the Tor Browser on both.
@itsfoss i started using waterfox for abkut half a year
@itsfoss others: Desktop = Librewolf and Mobile Fennec
@itsfoss I see a lot of reference to Zen Browser. It looks great, I like the organization features, and it's FOSS. But what about plugins? There are a few plugins that I use that aren't directly related to making the browser behave that I use constantly. Proton Pass is a good example. It looks as if the plugin space is lacking so far, but the benefits may actually outweigh this shortcoming.

@itsfoss nm. Answered my own question. Since it's built on Mozilla Firefox, you can just install Firefox plugins.

https://docs.zen-browser.app/user-manual/extensions

Extensions

Get to know how extensions work in Zen

@rustbuckett @itsfoss

It's based on Firefox, so as long as the plugins you use are available there, you can install it on Zen.

@itsfoss
Still Firefox here 😎

@itsfoss

...von langjährig #firefox zu #chromium zu #brave # zu #librefox zu #vivaldi und zurück zu #firefox

...ist alles ein bischen unbefriedigend mit den browsern

@itsfoss
Brave, but I'll switch to Helium once the flatpak gets released.

I need a chromium based browser because I need specific extensions that are only available on the Chrome store.
@itsfoss 1) Firefox 2) Vivaldi
FF was always the browser of my choice. For decades now. And will be, if only US will not brake or block it for EU(chances are so close to zero...). But I also like Vivaldi, so it will be backup plan...

@itsfoss

#ZenBrowser on desktop, #Waterfox on Android, and #Vivaldi as a Chromium backup.

@cynical13 @itsfoss

no geckobrowser mobile because no internal sandbox like chromium based

@itsfoss LOL Vivaldi is NOT FOSS (neither is Chrome).

@yoasif @itsfoss

LOL, I came here to say exactly that. I think this website is pretending to care about FOSS while actually just looking for some clicks.

@terminaltilt @yoasif @itsfoss Just see the amount of trackers they embed

@opensourceopenmind @yoasif @itsfoss

Oh, you're right! Privacy Badger lit up with a ton of stuff it is blocking.

@itsfoss im enjoying waterfox
@itsfoss Vivaldi
Eingebauter Werbeblocker.

@itsfoss librewolf for daily driving, ungoogled-chromium for WebUSB / WebBluetooth.

If you use brave, firefox, or chrome, you might as well give out thumbdrives full of your browsing data to aggregators.
