Recently we celebrated Trans Day of Visibility, but words alone aren't enough. If you want to apply for GNOME Foundation membership you don't need to provide your legal name, you can use your actual name!

We recognise the cruel reality that many trans people's legal names are deadnames.

Someone asked me for a refund over this post, so I’d like to make something clear: our community consists of trans and gay and disabled people and people of color and people whose first language is not English and a whole host of other kinds of marginalization and I have no plans to ever stop celebrating that. If that’s a problem for you, I am extremely happy to give you your money back.
