Ravens like to collect shiny objects. I like to collect various types of information - those are my shiny objects. I am the raven of information.

I like to read #books and learn things. I'm working on my #fitness. I love my #dog, and take him hiking in the #forest. I #garden, but am perpetually behind on that.

It may be too soon to plant dahlias outside, but I planted a few anyway. We seem to have climate-changed ourselves into a new gardening zone, so why not? #gardening #dahlias
I sat outside in the rain, in my camp chair. I wore rain gear from head to toe, and was absolutely pelted with rain as I leaned back and stared into the sky. What a glorious experience. I love autumn, and the fall rains are just fine with me. #rain

I sat on a penny-farthing once. The idea of riding such a tall bicycle was terrifying. These guys, though...

Why isn't every government department, everywhere, doing this?

This is my confession: I'm thinking of buying one of these folding bicycles:

I wonder how that would work out for me.

It's been years since I made a website for a community cause, for something important, time-sensitive, and in need of attention. But anyway, I did that recently, and it has been a depressing process.

Back in the day, it was so easy to get traffic and attract readers. People found a site through links on blogs or through search engines that worked.

Now it seems impossible for a new site to get traction unless somebody mentions it on the huge commercial social media site that is so atrocious.

I'm impressed with the huge software company that plans to take screenshots of what users of its operating system are doing. The level of extreme privacy invasion this involves has a dear friend asking how to switch to Linux, and I never thought I'd hear that question from her.
This is an #introduction post to list some of my interests and inclinations. Here goes! I value #kindness and things that build #community. I fight for #privacy. I am fond of #dogs, #books, #information, #mapping, #GPS, #fitness things, #corvids, and lazy #genealogy. I use and promote #OpenSource software. I like the outdoors; you may find me #gardening, #cycling, and exploring. I live in #Canada. I will eat the dark chocolate before you find it.
I don't know about this whole #introduction thing. I arrive at your party, you're all there already, and... you want, what? Me to stand up and announce the things I'm interested in? Jeez, guys. Imma gonna sneak in all quiet-like. Imma find the place where the food is. Imma eat the food. After a while somebody will come over to have a bacon-wrapped whatever. We'll talk about bacon things. It will be alright.
