Major work in the #garden today. #Tomato #seedlings were late getting started, so they are just now getting into big pots. #Tropical plants like #dahlias, #mandevilla and #bouganvillea are finally in their #summer pots, mulched and fertilized. Our potted #JapaneseMaple arboretum is glowing. The Night-blooming Cereus, Princess of the Night #Cactus is out, too. Time to rest and enjoy the view.

Doing a deep dive down the rabbit hole of historical Dahlia nursery catalogs. Was reading one from 1927. I had to giggle at the description of a cactus-type with tightly curled white petals edged in orange.

The variety was called "Cigarette".
