I bought a Noctua A12X25 120mm computer fan and decided to break off the original fan blades so I could test out a series of fan-made (pun intended) blade designs. Since I can 3D print these quickly, I thought it'd be fun to see which cools my new CPU (i7 12700KF) the best.

CPU hasn't been delivered yet, but I've already got quite a few fan shapes and colors to try.

This is all inspired by Major Hardware's "Fan Showdown" series on YouTube. I find the videos alright, but I wish all of the fan designs were open source or at least available for download ᛉ

I'm making progress on my God Ot (Godot) statue that I'm printing in gold PLA. My first attempt was about half the size and was supposed to be silver but ended up more grey. I should have the base printed in a few days, I'm thinking black ᛉ

Someone tossed a perfectly good Cherry brand mechanical keyboard today at work. The keyboard itself is garbage, but the Cherry-brand switches are still perfectly good.

I'm slowly desoldering them one by one. I've done about two dozen today, I'll save the rest for when my back isn't so strained ᛉ

Slow progress on that bottom plate from that mini PC. It's looking closer everyday and soon I'll print some more fit testers before printing the first revision ᛉ

It seems that for about $9, I can upgrade the 1GB of DDR4 RAM on my Anbernic RG35XXSP to 4GB. AliExpress never ceases to be useful to me. This will be useful as I just installed DesktopOS for my unit and while it runs alright, it could benefit from more RAM.

I don't have any real experience with desoldering / resoldering flash chips, but I'll figure it out. If you're curious, my 10 minutes of searching leads me to believe that K4FBE3D4HM-MGCJ will be compatible with these units. I bought two chips in case I zap one or I succeed (somehow) and want to upgrade another device. You'll hear from me in a few weeks with the results ᛉ

While scrolling through a Telegram channel the other day, I came across this black and white picture of a figure wearing a strange mask and tunic while presenting an unknown object. I thought it was cool looking and saved the photo. I didn't know where the image was from and didn't see it as intriguing enough to research it's origin.

Just two days later (yesterday), I was in a thrift store and as I made my way to the book section, a worn out copy of Ray Bradbury's "The Martian Chronicles" was propped up in the corner of a shelf.

I immediately recognized the image and bought the book. It's not the most riveting example of synchronicity, but I try to pay attention to those mysterious and often inconsequential signs that wait quietly for someone to pay attention to them. Maybe this book will teach me something ᛉ
