I was filing a bug about collision detection not working well when I suddenly got viciously attacked.
We shipped something!
Volu.dev, a #webxr developer toolkit:
- easily connect to localhost from your headset
- access a console, a three.js inspector, and a perf monitor
Some notes that will be relevant to the masto folks:
- It's local-only, and peer-to-peer (WebRTC powered). Your code never leaves your network
- it's account-less. We don't capture or save anything about you
- this is not FOSS yet. We're still assessing how to keep it sustainable
Hope you like it!
Hey weβre live on product hunt!
TLDR: volu.dev is a toolkit for making webXR dev easier, and weβre starting with debugging!
Some features:
- quick connect to your headset from VS Code
- XR native dev tools: console, inspect, and perf monitoring all in-headset
- platform agnostic: itβs a web app! It runs on #Quest, #VisionPro, and any headset with a browser.
#webxr #webdev #webdevelopment #spatialweb #xr #mixedreality #spatialcomputing
Building for the spatial web has never been easier. π§° Inspect, debug, and tweak code, directly from your headset. βοΈ Support for three.js, AFrame, and MRjs. π Local-only, peer-to-peer connection, your code never leaves your network.
π and we're live

What do we have here? π
Might that be... An _official #GodotEngine Discord server?
@frameworkcomputer had a little trouble with @vanillaos with the version im on, so sticking with ubuntu for now - but already loving the manual hardware switch for audio and video as well π
gonna play around with it a bit over the next few weeks and see if there's something i can tweak to get it back to being happy with the vanilla setup
so hyped π
Just bought and setup my @frameworkcomputer 16 laptop and this thing is a tank
definitely a concession of slimness/lightweightness for ease of fixing/constant use
worth the tradeoff though and their setup instructions were so straightforward on video and directly on the hardware of the device - 100% recommend π» π οΈ
A bit of a #selfPromotion if I may :)
Are you building for WebXR? Are you using VSCode?
We just launched http://volu.dev/ a WebXR dev companion.
Connect to your headset in one click, without having to deal with certificates, IPs, etc. and access your console logs, inspect entities, and more!
It's P2P and local-first, no cloud involved!
