Old, and tired. Live in a shed in the woods. Like family, boats and making stuff. Wish the uk was boring and normal.
@john_cotter when you see the protests from the Iranian team - which could literally mean life or death for them and their families - the caving of the Western European teams seems a little pathetic.
Looking at the amount of misogynistic replies and quote tweets, this tweet gives you a truly depressing view of Twitter/the world. #TwitterLayoffs #twitter
@krishgm it is always a political choice.
@Jim I know I cant either
I have enjoyed the careful technological and cultural comparisons between #Twitter and #Mastodon but what stands out for me is that the latter is not owned by a billionaire tweeting out abject and self- aggrandising nonsense to a horde of adoring cult followers whilst summarily terminating the employment of the very people who kept the site working and bearable. #Twexit

@DavidFlitcroft wow - these are amazing - so intricate.
@davidallengreen @rbreich no one person can create that amount of wealth no matter how good they are at what they do - but a combination of government policy and markets working to their mutual interests allow wealth to be concentrated rather than distributed based on contribution. I think it is about power - those who want it don’t tend to act for the benefit of the whole., but it’s also insecurity - hold people back in case they are better than you.
@Supertanskiii glad you are here - give it a go - it’s different - but better.
The internet wasn't intended to be 3 websites with enough power to turn us into doomscrolling zombies, sway public policy and lead to the collapse of democracy.
