New instance, new #Introduction post!

Here we go again...

I'm River, and I've booped around a few places here on the fediverse, currently hanging out with my friends @tiefling  and @VulpineDruid  to chat about stuff and things.

I've been gaming since the heady days of OG #BaldursGate, and am currently obsessed with #BaldursGate3 and #DragonAge #TheVeilguard.

When I'm not gaming, I'm an academic #librarian, a practicing #witch and #Selunite, an occasional #writer and #poet and a general all-round nerdy type.

I'm also queer and trans, so I will post about #LGBTQ stuff, but I will content warn anything political.

I've always said that #Battlefront2 was a good game, the casino-like mechanics made it awful.

Years later, no casino and an accessible price, and the game surprisingly resonates between gamers.

This shows that even good games can die by their monetisation. Check #Helldivers2 and see how it's going.
