Once they understand the concept —or at least know of it— you can reveal to them the convenient existence of a word for it in the vocabulary of the other language.
This is especially useful for monoglots, who often struggle with conceptualising anything not explicitly labelled by their native language.
Communication tip:
When explaining a concept to someone that doesn't exist in their language, you need to bypass their bamboozle filters.
Don't start by telling them the word or about the concept — this is what will trigger their bamboozle filter.
Instead, start by explaining the concept.
