When illustrating pirates for stories such as "Treasure Island," Victorian artist Howard Pyle had to rely on his imagination, and was heavily inspired by Romani clothing. Due to Pyle, pirates are often envisioned with colorful kerchiefs, sashes, and other adornments.

July was quite the month - I graduated from uni (aged 53....its never too late), we got kittens and our local sea-swimmers had their 2nd year anniversary bash where we were joined in our sunset swim by a porpoise. Nice.

We have #kittens.
They're adorable & settling in well. I'm starting to love them and they certainly make the house less quiet!
I dont miss my dog any less though. He leaves a big hole in my life and heart. #dog #grief

@Bapaepke oh well, firm "no" it is! And no, not remotely unreasonable to say so whether neurodivergent or not. In your shoes every time the reporter asks a personal question I'd be gently/firmly saying I wanted the focus to be on the gallery not me, and giving a random gallery fact 😁 Good luck x
