Very interesting.
" a landmark study .... provides rigorous, data-driven proof that Indigenous-led conservation efforts—specifically #Indigenous Protected and Conserved Areas (IPCAs)—are just as effective, and often more effective, at sequestering #carbon and preserving #biodiversity than traditional government-managed parks.

But for the #geospatial community, the real story lies in how this was proven..."

Two pieces of excellent news!
I ran a trial of a breakfast program years ago. The feedback was so positive, everyone LOVED it!
It didn't just help with concentration, it increased attendance for kids from rough homes with empty pantries. The food at school became a major incentive to come to school. For a few dollars they got fed and got a day of education in a safe environment.
This is #Canada matching the marketing. Lets be this country.

A lot of people talking about the EU's #ChatControl bill, and rightly so. There are 2 really important votes coming up.

As someone who has worked on it for 4 years (before the official proposal was even put forward) from a digital human rights perspective, here's a quick recap / informed source of what the heck is actually going on:

- The European Commission put forward a proposal in 2022 to mass scan public and private communications, using AI, in case of people sharing abuse material;

Hey good folks in #Canada, MP Davies of Vancouver Kingsway has a motion: ”M-128 CASTE-BASED DISCRIMINATION”:

I think it is a good idea to encourage your MPs to support this motion to at least get this recognized!

> in the opinion of the House, the government should amend the Canadian Human Rights Act to add caste to the list of prohibited grounds of discrimination.

Good news 🌞🌱: Solar farms can help tackle climate change and biodiversity loss when planted with pollinator-friendly plants.

Not so good news 🌡️🌉: Our infrastructure wasn’t built for today’s climate. While many regions are investing in road and bridge repairs, we need much more as climate impacts intensify.

Inspiration 🌿👧 : The Parry Sound Forest School is teaching kids to love nature and care about climate change
