Today in vulnerability coordination:

Vendor: "That's not a vulnerability, it requires X level of access and nobody should expose that according to our hardening guide"

Me: "Okay, so if I publicly disclose the backdoor password needed to exploit this, you are comfortable with that?"

Vendor: "You can't do that, it would put customers at unnecessary risk."

From a German Restaurant's Children's menu (translated):

I don't know => Schnitzel with chips
I'm not hungry => 2 pancakes with banana and chocolate
Don't care => Spaghetti with meatballs
I don't want that => Hamburger with chips
Something => Chicken nuggets with chips

It's true! You know it!

Compared to all other social media platforms, Mastodon has very few 1 mintues videos (like you see those on Insta, TikTok, X etc) in my feed or in the trending tab. It has more text based content, followed by images. Very interesting! I guess humans have always liked to read and write. There is no automated alog here just humans talking and boosting what is important to them. This is how social media should be instead of constant push of clickbait videos.

Help request. My brother has Stage 4 colorectal cancer.

His life insurance has refused to pay out on a technicality, meaning he and his loved ones cannot afford the mortgage on their home.

I've never asked for anything in return for infosec stuff, but if you have anything spare, please chuck it this direction instead:

Hey folks. Do me a favor - if you have a network, tell it about BSides. Tell people how the BSides family of conferences works to make great educational content available for people at an affordable price.

Who knows, it might help someone get #fedihired sometime. #bsides. #BSidesLuxembourg2025

👊 TARIFF 🔥, the GREATEST, most TREMENDOUS Python package that makes importing great again!

TARIFF is a fantastic tool that lets you impose import tariffs on Python packages. We're going to bring manufacturing BACK to your codebase by making foreign imports more EXPENSIVE!

This too shall pass.

And then some other bullshit will come and take its place.

It never fucking ends.
