All my shit's on sale on Steam. Now is a good time to grab Jack Dragon for less than CAD $4, or Die for the Economy! for CAD $5 .. or what about RC Rush for CAD $4? You can even get My Nuclear Octopus or Axe Throw for less than CAD $4!

Since CAD dollars are probably a higher number than your currency, they're probably only 1 or 2 of your groats or whatever you pay for your beans with. It's a steal, probably. Don't ask me. Read the reviews, they're mostly really good.

I was really wary of starting localisation/translation for my game but the Unity localisation package is surprisingly easy to set up. Menus are working, dialogue system is next. (NOTE: I haven't properly translated this yet, it's just google translate output to set up the configuration)

Does anyone have a recommendation for translation services at a fair price?

A new version of Compu-Tron x3000 has been released on Steam and Itch.io. This release replaces the weather service API with a newer version from the Met Office and also includes more location data in order to obtain forecasts for more places in the UK.

Compu-Tron x3000 - Update notes for June 2025 - Steam News

This release includes use of a new API for the weather app in Compu-Tron x3000. Data previously provided by the Met Office DataPoint service is now delivered by Met Office DataHub. This will enable the app to be used for longer as the previous service is being retired at the end of 2025. The new service provides additional data items in weather forecasts which have been included in Compu-Tron x3000.

Beautiful but blustery day at Tal-y-Bont, Gwynedd beach. Lots of pretty jellyfish unfortunately washed up, but they are wonderful to behold.

Met Office gave a 'do one, son' reply. Seems the API is not being supported even though it's not being retired until December. Righty-o. Looks like I'll need to work on moving to the new DataHub API and get lat/long data from the Office of National Statistics files instead.

Ah well, Compu-Tron x3000 is my first released project. Can't let a feature in it expire already!

There is currently an issue with the UK Met Office API which can (but doesn't always) result in a failure to retrieve a weather forecast.

I have raised a support ticket with the Met Office and I am awaiting a reply. Other users of this data have reported the same issue, so it's not just affecting Compu-Tron x3000 (phew!).

Once I receive an update, I will post again here with the details.
