Over the new year period I received news that my book "INSOLVENT: How to Reorient Computing for Just Sustainability" (MIT 2023) was selected a CHOICE Outstanding Academic Title. ✨ That's the second recognition for the book after being selected PROSE Award Finalist in Engineering and Technology 2024 so I'm feeling quite good about that. :)

My siblings in science, this is the perfect, the absolutely perfect opportunity to walk your talk. Go Virtual, or require masks. OR both.

Presumably the conference attendees and speakers would understand both the tech and the social reasons for it.

@cbecker @ACM I don't think I've ever heard of anyone suing an academic meeting organizer for getting the unspeakable C word there, even if they got seriously disabling LC as a result. Interesting that there's some lawyer concerned about the possibility somewhere.
