@marginalia @ploum And I think another factor is that many people's questions during that 2014-2017(ish) period were already answered by people in 2009-2014, which meant they didn't get asked. But starting in the mid-to-late 2010s, we also see the toolset for PHP and JS-driven apps start to become a lot more complicated. StackOverflow's PHP section was great for developers editing their WordPress plugin over FTP. Both the PHP dev ecosystem and questions asked are a lot more complicated today.

I like my Linux laptop that crashes once or twice a day. I like my Mastodon account where you can't really talk to anyone about anything but webdev or Rust. I like my Lenovo tablet that sometimes switches into Japanese for no reason. I like my Steam Deck that needs unique settings fiddling per game. I'm willing to put up with some friction & frustration from my computers & software. But what I can't ~abide~, and will twist my life into pretzels to avoid from my computers & software, is *malice*.

They said that since I called and asked, they can roll it over into a new CD with the same rate if I want, but if I hadn't called it would have rolled over into a CD at 0.05%.
