The Framed Women of Ardemore House

As we honor Trans Awareness Week, let us dedicate this post to Dr. Brandy Schillace, who takes us on a captivating journey across time and space to reveal the Institute for Sexual Science, the first trans clinic in Berlin. This institution conducted its first modern gender-affirming surgeries by 1930.

Spare a moment and give her article a read!

The Forgotten History of the World's First Trans Clinic

The Institute for Sexual Research in Berlin would be a century old if it hadn’t fallen victim to Nazi ideology

Oh hi! I’ve almost vanished fro@ here as I finished my #book. But GUESS WHAT? GOOD NEWS! Going on 2 years ago, I published my article on #transgenger + #hormone history 🗃️🧪🏳️‍⚧️. Oh. My. So I ordered a new life vest for Bart (the one he has is made for dogs, and the anatomy just isn’t the same). Anyway, I found one at a place called ‘surf cat.’ And… they sent it with a tiny pair of cat sunglasses Omg. I’m going to see if he’ll wear them tomorrow for a photo 🤣

Listen, if you are feeling like it’s too late to follow your dreams or to change things, recall that the very first LIFE ON EARTH film by David Attenborough came out in the 70s when David was 53. Think of every amazing thing he has done since to change the world and promote the environment; these happened in his 50s, 60s, 70s, 80s, and now at 96 he is working on a new documentary in Scotland. I’m 45. It’s like I haven’t been born yet in David years. #nature #environment #aging #hope
