World AIDS Day is an annual event observed on December 1st. It aims to raise awareness about HIV/AIDS, honor those who have lost their lives to the disease, and support individuals living with HIV/AIDS. This day provides an opportunity to educate communities about the importance of prevention, testing, and treatment options available.

Marsha "Pay It No Mind" Johnson, a remarkable African-American transgender activist who played a vital part in the Stonewall Riots, is featured today for Transgender Awareness Week!
Marsha Johnson, along with Sylvia Rivera, founded the Street Transvestite Action Revolutionaries (STAR) in 1970, a New York City organization dedicated to assisting transgender youth experiencing homelessness.
