🇫🇷J’avais dévoré les romans de La Passe-Miroir l’an dernier, donc quand j’ai vu l’adaptation en BD, je n’ai pas hésité une seconde ! Et comme prévu, l’univers fonctionne parfaitement en format roman graphique.
J’ai été particulièrement marquée par la représentation de la Citacielle et des différents lieux : chacun a une vraie identité. Anima respire la famille, le Pôle est froid et austère, et Clairdelune, tout en illusions, est superbement rendu.
Les personnages sont fidèles à l’image que je m’en faisais.
Petit bémol : l’écharpe est trop en retrait et la relation entre Ophélie et Thorn reste un peu survolée.

🇬🇧 I devoured The Mirror Visitor series last year, so when I saw the graphic novel adaptation, I didn’t hesitate for a second! And as expected, the world translates beautifully into this format.
I was especially impressed by how the Citacielle and its different locations were brought to life: each has a strong identity. Anima feels like a loud family gathering, the Pole is cold and austere, and Clairdelune, full of illusions, is wonderfully depicted.
The characters feel very true to how I imagined them.
My only downside: the scarf is too much in the background, and Ophélie and Thorn’s relationship feels a bit rushed.

⭐️⭐️⭐️

🇫🇷 Grosse déception… J’avais adoré le premier tome, donc j’attendais beaucoup de L’Orchidée de sang. La plume est toujours aussi agréable et les personnages restent attachants, mais le rythme est vraiment bancal pour moi. La quête principale sort un peu de nulle part, les péripéties s’enchaînent trop facilement et certaines incohérences m’ont complètement sortie de l’histoire.
Malgré tout, j’ai passé un moment de lecture plutôt agréable — d’où mes trois étoiles.

🇬🇧 A big disappointment… I loved the first book, so I had high hopes for The Blood Orchid. The writing is still lovely and the characters are endearing, but the pacing really didn’t work for me. The main quest comes out of nowhere, the plot resolves itself too easily, and a few inconsistencies pulled me out of the story.
Still, I enjoyed parts of the read — which is why it gets three stars from me.
