- A fantasy game where we played very venerable veteran adventurers whose villains tried a last attempt to get them. A party that was hard of hearing, arthritic, struggled with blood pressure and was partly a bit overweight, on their last adventure. It was hilarious. We were in physical pain from laughing.
- A fantasy game where we got played so good by a NPC traitor that we really were stunned when it turned out we were working for the villains all along and found ourselves surrounded by enemies (actual traitors and those that took us for traitors). That was amazing character play on the GM's side.
- A "Secret World of Cats" game where we played a ragtag band of cats with mystic powers tracking down a possessing spirit that took our hoomans' children for its nefarious purposes. What we lacked in competence we made for in enthusiasm. And dangerous curiosity. I swear, we solved most steps of the mystery by sheer luck and brute force. Brains completely optional. But if anyone asked, it was all pawt of the plan.
- A Shadowrun game where we infiltrated a Cult of Elvis that was preparing for the return of The King. It got really weird really fast. I still have nervous twitches when I hear "Love me tender".
- A cthulhu-esque horror game where we played our own ghosts that tried to fulfil our failed mission. *But we didn't know that*. We just finally realized our sorry state when we found our battered remains near the finale.
- A RIFTS game where we tried to procure some old world candy from a vending machine rusting somewhere in the ruins of an ancient city for a hefty sum of coin. After dealing with fascists, an alien abomination, breaking up a slaver ring, stopping the end of the world at the last minute and getting that damn machine to our client, he already found out the stuff is still made in a city only a day's ride from where he lived. It was brilliant. And ofc we stuffed him in that damn machine.
What I'm trying to say is, this is an awesome hobby. I never want to grow out of it.
