Finally visited the epic Forgotten Worlds. Largest Retro Video game store in the UK. Not only are there video games, there are figures, manga, and imported snacks galore.
It is definitely worth a pilgrimage to Stewarton. But be prepared to spend all your money. Go, go now!!!
Here’s a stack of video game CRTs to help brighten your day 😁

Leeds Video Game Market was totally packed yesterday. One in one out. So many different vendors, with a good variety of stuff. I mostly go to browse all the things and chat with the community.
But I did buy one game for the C64, Quango. Is there a game that shares your name?
It’s a shame the Cybertruck wasn’t about when the London Marble Arch Mound was a thing. Perfect recreation of a live action Sony PS1 driving game 🤣

Got the homebrew itch on Friday night and had a look at these community gems:

Slicks Racing for the Atari 2600 by Lowfuel is a nice take on the Super Sprint games of yore with four single-screen tracks and some simple rules. Race five laps as fast as possible and, if you touch the walls, you slow down. There's no AI cars, so it's just you against the clock, but a second player can join in the fun. I had a few goes and started to get the hang of the turns to keep the car centered and the simple mechanics are enough to drive that one more go feeling.

Super JetPak DX from Asobitech is a Gameboy Color conversion of the ZX Spectrum masterpiece from Ultimate. The graphics have all been re-done and the whole game optimised for the tiny GBC screen. Asobitech recently offered the game for free and, since the original is one of my all time favourites, I thought I'd give it a try. It's great! Tight controls, great graphics and a proven gameplay premise make for an addictive Gameboy blaster.

The last game I looked at was T:me Salvo for the Atari 7800 by Mike Saarna. It's an adaptation of the 1981 home PC game, Crossfire, from Sierra On-Line Systems (remember them)? It really is a bit of a mash-up and uses Robotron 2084 graphics for its critters but it plays really well and the difficulty ramps up really quickly. The game supports twin stick controls and I think I will try out on my cabinet, with the solid arcade sticks switched to four way mode and see if I can't show these bad guys who's boss!

What a pleasant surprise this morning. My preorder #Capcom and #Taito limited edition transparent #SuperPocket handhelds arrived. They both have over ten built in games each, and can take #Evercade cartridges for more.
Love the how the colour ways look, which do you prefer?
What’s your favourite Capcom and Taito games?
The rarest and most difficult to find versions of #Castlevania are actually for the #Commodore64 and #Amiga.
They come in the same packaging as the IBM PC 5 1/4” and 3 1/2” floppy disk versions.
Such a shame none of them are actually good video games.
Did you know about these?

Have you played any of the Castlevania games on the Nintendo GameBoy?
Classicvania or Metroidvania style, which do you prefer?
