Small observance at a grade school event:
A lot of girls were waiting in line to do activities...a lot of boys were just moving themselves to the front of the line to get a turn.
It was like some kids were aware of the line and followed unspoken rules and others were completely ignoring them or oblivious to the lines existing
Context: I always find myself in discussions about adding admin responsibilities and shifting to management vs staying IC
Me: I want to be mentored. I want to be a better software engineer. Is there a point where people don't get mentored anymore? 🤔
My Son: Mom, you have more experience than some of your coworkers have been alive
