It is strange that the #natural human #body can provoke shock or offence when it is the form in which every one of us enters the world. We are born #nude, yet almost immediately taught to conceal what is most #natural. Stranger still is the shunning of our reproductive organs, ordinary parts of our anatomy that bring pleasure, create life, & connect us to our shared humanity. What is #natural is hidden, while the artificial is accepted without question.

How strange that the sight of a #nude human #body can cause shock or offence when it’s the most #natural thing in the world. The human #body is not obscene, controversial, or unnatural. It’s simply what we are. We are born #nude, not clothed, not hidden, not ashamed. Yet from our earliest moments we are covered, & over time taught to regard our #natural form as something that must be concealed. What should be familiar & ordinary becomes taboo, while the artificial is accepted without question.

Today, a fellow #naturist & photographer took a series of #naturist #photographs of me. She brought a distinctly different artistic perspective & vision. As she put it, “No opportunity in #naturism should be missed. Posed #photographs have their place, but candid images tell a different story.” Her approach focuses on capturing authentic moments & genuine experiences, revealing aspects of #naturism that carefully composed poses often cannot. My wife & I were taking notes.

What benefit is there in being #naked you ask, well it teaches that the human #body doesn’t fit one narrow mould. Seeing real people #naturally #nude reveals endless variation in #genitals, bodies, skin, age, & form. What #society labels imperfect slowly loses meaning. The #penis, #vulva, #breasts, stomach, thighs, all become ordinary parts of human existence rather than objects of embarrassment. In that understanding comes #acceptance, comfort, & a calmer relationship with the #body
