I joined Mastodon in May 2017 when it was still new and before ActivityPub. That server (mastodon.cloud) is now out of maintenance, so I just migrated smoothly to my Vivaldi account. So now you know.
Oops, I missed posting about the #solstice yesterday. But here's a photo of our Los Alamos solstice sun dagger from a few years ago, when I made a timelapse of it here:

and blogged about it

Hello Mastodon! I’ve been here before a long time ago and went away, but I’m still feeling a little unmoored on the internet so I thought I’d give it another try.
I am a nature girl, a magpie, and a film lover. I like to walk and look at little things like fungi, moss, and lichen, rocks and shells. On the other side of my coin I love to think about the vastness of outer space…lmk if you also like to think about very small and very big things!
Drought and monoculture and one little bug killed a whole forest.
Natural rejuvenation has to be helped. By a lot of volunteers and planting original tree species.

In only three years one of Germany’s largest forests has turned from dark green tree cover to a graveyard of dead wood. The reason: rising temperatures and monoculture forestry.
In our third mission, we have partnered with Harz National Park, to turn things around and transform this stressed ecosystem into a strong and climate resilient forest.
A big thank you to heiermann4future for facilitating this mission.
