And here’s an early queen enjoying the hell out of a dandelion - do not cut them!! I don’t get why people want to anyway, they are so pretty. We need a dandelion rebrand like the feral pigeons are getting
Here’s a garden bumbler on a southern marsh orchid! Not quite sure how much nectar she’s expecting to find in there but at least she’s trying 😌
May Bumblebees of the Gwent Levels - I have just started doing counts of the bumblers at Newport Wetlands & fallen very much in love with them - they are so characterful & very busy, do not care at all that you are there. There are 24 species in the UK, & the best way to ID them is using the Bumblebee Conservation Trust’s Big 8 cards that you can find on their website/SM - count the colours & bands! Dandelions are an essential early source of food so don’t cut them!! #bumblebees
Would you just look at this little guy #beetles
That’s what I’m talking about, Rachel Carson is the greatest nature writer of all time 🥰🦑🪼

As soon as I am finished with uni at the end of May this summer is going to be about reading and lying in the grass 🌞
I’ve been really enjoying this series lately, it’s v comforting to listen to people talk calmly about books you have known and loved since you were a teen 🥰 (best eps: We Have Always Lived in the Castle, Frankenstein, Clockwork Orange, Nineteen Eighty-Four, Mrs Dalloway) #bookstodon
The newest episode of Ologies is about porcupines and the expert is called Tim Bean and I cannot explain how or why that’s so cute
Man looking through your teenhood journals really makes you wonder why you don’t write in glittery gel pens anymore
