Spent the afternoon in Japantown at the Cherry Blossom Festival. Last year, I wrote about these sell-out teriyaki burgers from the Kimochi tent. Funds raised from each purchase go toward helping the elder community. This year, I got to taste one and it was so delicious! Plus, mini cinnamon-sugar doughnuts, gyoza and lots of sunshine. This historic, 50-year-old #SanFrancisco German specialty store was saved by a loyal customer and has reopened! It offers some of the most hard-to-find snacks and foods with a weekly schedule of new deliveries. I lived in #Frankfurt as a kid, so walking into this store was an absolute dream that jogged so many memories! My latest for @sfgate.

We made fancy #smores tonight to ring in the #NewYear! My partner brought home these crispy Swedish ginger snap #cookies by Lars, hand-crafted vanilla bean #marshmallows by Ticket Chocolate in Loomis, and smooth and creamy milk #chocolate from Endangered Species Chocolate. This is probably the best s'more I've ever eaten. Look at that brown char! It was like the sugary crunchy top of creme brulee.
