Spent the afternoon in Japantown at the Cherry Blossom Festival. Last year, I wrote about these sell-out teriyaki burgers from the Kimochi tent. Funds raised from each purchase go toward helping the elder community. This year, I got to taste one and it was so delicious! Plus, mini cinnamon-sugar doughnuts, gyoza and lots of sunshine. Happy Sunday everyone! #sanfrancisco #sf #cherryblossomfestival #teriburger #teriburgersf #kimochiteriburgersf #delicious #grilledburger #sundayfunday #theelliotfiles #japantownsf #spring #eastersunday #sunshine #bayarea #california #happy #family

We made fancy #smores tonight to ring in the #NewYear! My partner brought home these crispy Swedish ginger snap #cookies by Lars, hand-crafted vanilla bean #marshmallows by Ticket Chocolate in Loomis, and smooth and creamy milk #chocolate from Endangered Species Chocolate. This is probably the best s'more I've ever eaten. Look at that brown char! It was like the sugary crunchy top of creme brulee.

I love music history. Last night, I watched an awesome documentary called "How They Got Over," which shows the huge influence touring gospel quartets of the 1920s-'40s had on soul, Motown and rock 'n' roll. Sister Rosetta Tharpe on her electric guitar, a young Sam Cooke, the Soul Stirrers. So many great talents! It's on HBO Max.
