This is a new one for me. Now, I do love a good donburi, and I would never turn down a gyūdon, but it has somehow never occurred to me to put cheese on gyūdon.
I lived in Philadelphia for a long time, so obviously a #cheesesteak (beef and cheese on bread, often with fried onions), is something I'd totally eat, but when you combine that with dashi, shōyu, sake, and mirin, it changes the flavor quite a bit.
Maybe I should give it a try.
