Europe now has a Marathon running series: European Marathon Classics 🥳
And my first marathon in #Frankfurt last year even counts :)
Will try to complete a few more and earn my medal 💪

2025 didn't start well for the sports tech I use:
- #Komoot acquired by Bending Spoons
- #Garmin introducing subscriptions
- #Runna acquired by Strava literally ONE DAY after I purchased an annual subscription 🤦♂️
Really annoyed by most tech companies right now: locking users into ecosystems, replacing one-time purchases with endless subscriptions, and slapping AI on everything without adding real value.
Also as I'd like to have a Strava alternative in the fediverse, I'd be interested in meeting people from the @FitTrackee project. Feel free to reach out in case someone will be at #fosdem2025 as well.
FitTrackee looks like the most promising project for a self hosted outdoor activity social network currently. Though I haven't used it personally (will set it up in the coming weeks).
I'll be in Brussels tomorrow at @fosdem. Will focus on #Java, #Cloud, #SocialWeb mostly.
I'd like to have a look at the #framework16. Maybe also #framework13 for comparison. Will you be there somewhere, @frameworkcomputer?
Or maybe anyone bringing their laptop?
Die Geschehnisse in "Views" von @marcuwekling sind so nah an der Realität, dass es gleichzeitig fasziniert und schmerzt.
Bin etwas traurig dass man sich so schnell wieder von den Protagonist.innen verabschieden musste, würde mich freuen sie wiederlesen zu dürfen.
