Building a Pi-based MIDI controller / sequencer to access all the features of the Roland ST88Pro I recently bought from @FreakyFwoof
The problem with the Pi is if you want precision timing and the correct baud rate you have to mess with settings, disable devices, possibly rebuild the kernel etc (or go bare metal). My solution: Use a PIC16F688 (which I have alot of) running a tight loop to listen for and queue incoming messages to its UART while using the clock ouput pin as a sync signal. The Pi (in a much faster loop with its interrupts disabled) will poll that and use it to count its delta time intervals.
I guess you've heard some bad jokes about Fibonacci sequences?
Well, this one is as bad as the last two you heard put together.
I was birthday present shopping for my nephew this afternoon…he’s always been obsessed with transport and he’s now of an age where he likes to make and collect models…so I visited #Norwich’s oldest toy/model shop in the Royal Arcade, Langleys.
I know that much of model making scene seems to revolve around the concept of war…but I was still stunned and saddened to see this…
